PIBT’s IELTS requirement for nursing programs

Effective immediately, PIBT has increased the English language proficiency requirement of our Nursing pathway programs.

This is to ensure that students have the best possible English language in preparation for the academic rigours of the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at ECU.

 
The table below outlines the new IELTS requirement for PIBT programs:

Program                                             IELTS requirement

Certificate IV Tertiary Preparation Program        IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.5

Tertiary Access Program                     IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.5

Diploma of Science (Health Studies) Nursing stream   IELTS 6.5 with no band less than 6.0

Students will still be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS of 6.5 with no band less than 6.5 before entering the second year of the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at ECU. IELTS is compulsory for entry into nursing programs with PIBT and ECU.
