The University of Queensland is pleased to inform you that we will now accept international students under 18 years of age (minimum age 17), who do not have family guardianship in place, through our supervision program which approves the accommodation, support and general welfare of international students.
Eligible UQ applicants under the age of 18 will be identified during the application process and issued with an International Student Supervision registration form. The form must be signed by the applicant and their parent or legal custodian and returned to UQ International Admissions. If the University accepts responsibility for the applicant's accommodation and welfare arrangements, a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) alongside a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued, so applicants can then apply for a student visa. We are delighted to announce that from Semester 2, 2017 we will offer guaranteed accommodation to individual international students commencing their first semester at either UQ St Lucia or UQ Herston campus. Bookings will open on April 26th, and students can choose their preferred accommodation provider on StudentHub. Eligible students will receive an accommodation offer within five days of application.
To be eligible students must have accepted their UQ offer or be currently studying at IES Foundation Year or ICTE-UQ on a packaged offer. Registrations for Semester 2, 2017 guaranteed accommodation are open until 31 May, 2017. More information can be found here.

For IB and A level schools that follow the northern hemisphere academic calendar (and have results out in July/August), and have students who wish to commence at UQ in second semester, UQ will issue a full offer for approved schools for predicted grades. To be an approved school the IB school needs to send to UQ (through their regional office) the past 3 years' results for each student for predicted and actual grades. For A level schools these can be sent to UQ directly. At UQ the contact is Caroline Rhys Jones, c.rhys-jones@uq.edu.au.
The University will assess the accuracy of the results, and if approved will notify the school. For approved schools, IB students must have predicted grades 2 points higher than the UQ requirement, and for A levels the A level score should equal the UQ required score. Please note that students must meet all other academic and English requirements, which can be through their predicted grades.
