We are excited to announce some significant changes to English language entry requirements at Griffith University. These changes have been implemented in consideration of the Griffith English Language Enhancement Strategy (GELES), a multi-award winning English support program that ensures Griffith students are best placed to succeed in their studies.

These changes are outlined below and further information will soon be sent about an exciting revision to the Direct Entry Pathway to transition students from Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) to Griffith University and Griffith College.

Standard English entry requirements sub-score 调整最低单项要求

Griffith University will now consider applicants who have an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.5 (minimum) but one sub-score of 5.5 (other than Writing). These changes are effective immediately and also apply to all other English language tests accepted by the University, including TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic and ISLPR.  

Entry based on the criteria above will not be guaranteed, as applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. These changes do not apply to degree programs with an English language entry requirement of IELTS 7.0 or higher, or equivalent.

Following a review of the Pearson Test of English (Academic) correlation with IELTS, Griffith has revised our PTE Academic English entry requirements. The new requirements are:

New Study Abroad program English language entry
Griffith University will now accept Study Abroad program applicants who have an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score less than 5.5. This new English language entry requirement is effective immediately and applies to all other English language tests accepted by the University, including TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic and ISLPR.

Through the GELES strategy, Griffith provides English language assistance to students from before the degree right up until graduation.
